FAQ
What do listeners think about it?
Please send us a brief email with a concept that describes why your topic would be a good fit for our podcast, a link to your website, and a brief list of spiritual/mystical experiences you have experienced or witnessed. We suggest visiting our Instagram page to get an idea of what we are trying to capture.
The next step is to schedule a video discovery call to discuss your idea for the show. We also test the audio quality on this call, so please use the same equipment that you will be recording with.
We will collaborate on the following to record an episode:
- An intro/elevator pitch that describes who you are, what you do, and what we will be talking about in the episode, in less than 30 seconds (this is the “why” the audience should keep listening/watching). THIS IS NOT A BIO.
- Several talking points/events that we collaborate on, and a specific idea of what we will be talking about
- All content contributions MUST be created by the guest speaker, not the PR rep
WHAT TYPE OF SPEAKERS ARE A GOOD FIT FOR CLOSER TO VENUS?
People with direct, firsthand experience of the questions behind the show: what happens when we die, why we’re here, and what else is out there. That includes:
- Near-death experiences and other spontaneous spiritual openings
- Past-life memories and life-between-lives regression
- Evidential mediumship
- Remote Viewing
- Shamanic practice and journeying
- Channeling, including contact with galactic, angelic, or other non-human intelligences
What matters most is that your story is told as an experience: where you were, what you perceived, what changed afterward. We love specifics, and we welcome skeptical questions about them.
We’re not the right fit for guests whose work is primarily teaching, writing about, or interpreting spiritual systems, or for personal philosophies, frameworks, and transformative retreats that didn’t center on a specific, narratable experience of these themes. If you’re unsure which side of that line you fall on, tell us in your pitch about the single most vivid moment of your experience.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
- Please keep any promotional dialogue to a bare minimum—no sales pitches, please
- Speakers must be prepared to speak in sound bites- no monologues, please
- Please use your real name (no pseudonyms)
* We can not guarantee that all episodes will be published; if any episode sounds too much like a promo or is simply not informative enough, it will likely not be published.
RECORDING FAQ-WHAT GUEST SPEAKERS NEED TO KNOW
We will be recording audio & video. You will need either a desktop or laptop( no phones, please) and some type of headphones. External microphones are strongly preferred. Discovery calls are about 15 minutes, while the interview recordings usually run about 40-45 minutes.*Separate computers are required for multiple guest speakers.
Please make sure to use the latest version of Chrome or Edge.
YOUR SHOW IS LISTED AS A RELIGION/ SPIRITUAL PODCAST; ARE RELIGIOUS TOPICS DISCUSSED?
No, at least not in the traditional sense. Much of the research and anecdotal evidence of the last 100-120 years will often be at odds with traditional religious and scientific beliefs. Nevertheless, the most important things that many of these topics can teach us is that love, compassion, and forgiveness are of the utmost importance. You may also notice that quite a few speakers do talk of trying to find god, Christ Consciousness and that instances of deep meditation, near-death experiences, and out-of-body experiences often report feelings of an “unconditional love” as well as “God’s love”. It just may not be what you would expect to hear in church.
