FAQ
What do listeners think about it?

Send us a brief email with a concept/idea that describes why your topic would be a good fit for our podcast along with a link to your website. Please remember to include bullet points of any and all mystical/ spiritually transformative events that inspire your work. Typically, we have a discovery call to discuss and create questions/ bullet points for an episode that will offer the best value for our listeners. This is usually done on a video chat which also serves as a soundcheck to test the audio quality. All guest speakers will need to read the “RECORDING FAQ” section below.

RECORDING FAQ-WHAT GUEST SPEAKERS NEED TO KNOW
Closer To Venus is currently a pre-recorded audio-only show, but the cameras are on as it helps to see who we are talking to, we just don’t record the video. You will need either a desktop or laptop( no phones please) and headphones or ear buds (mandatory). External microphones are strongly preferred, air pods also work quite well.
*Please note the use of headset mics or built-in mics is discouraged due to poor audio quality.
A pop filter/windscreen is recommended when using an external microphone. If you have a condenser mic, keep in mind these things pick up a lot of noise which often can not be removed from the audio recording. We use Riverside FM to record, which only works with Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop.-please make sure you have the latest version of Chrome. You will not need to download any software.
Interview recordings usually run about 40-45 minutes, which typically results in a 30-35 minute episode after editing.
YOUR SHOW IS LISTED AS A RELIGION/ SPIRITUAL PODCAST; ARE RELIGIOUS TOPICS DISCUSSED?
No, at least not in the traditional sense. Much of the research and anecdotal evidence of the last 100-120 years will often be at odds with traditional religious and scientific beliefs. Nevertheless, the most important things that many of these topics can teach us is that love, compassion, and forgiveness are of the utmost importance. You may also notice that quite a few speakers do talk of trying to find god, Christ consciousness, and that instances of deep meditation, near-death experiences, out-of-body experiences and past life regression often report feelings of an “unconditional love” as well as “God’s love”. It just may not be what you would expect to hear in church.
